Industry & Investment NSW offers a range of services to meet the needs of people operating established small to medium sized businesses, and new starters in business across the State.

We provide a number of specialist and general programs, free online services, information sessions, workshops and expert assistance.

Our programs can help you start or run your business and expand your markets.

These programs can be accessed through our network of 18 offices located around the State.

Our products and services

  • a network of 14 Business Advisory Services across the State which offer confidential advice and assistance about starting and managing a business;
  • Innovation Advisory Service offer innovators regardless of where they are located, the chance to test their ideas through access to skilled innovation advisors;
  • tailored workshops, seminars and programs for women in business, home-based and micro business operators, young entrepreneurs and other industry groups;
  • large event programs including Small Business September, Home-based Business Week and Manufacturing Week;
  • the Business Clusters program supporting geographical and industry based clusters through the development of commercial business networks;
  • Aboriginal Business Development programs offering information and training for the development and growth of Aboriginal businesses
  • Trade Program Services supporting export activity in the small business sector through the provision of export advice, trade missions and market visits.

In this session you will discover the Small Business website www.smallbiz.nsw.gov.au and learn some hints, tips and tools for small business. You will also find out what a valuable resource for small business owners and operators this website is.

The website features the Small Business Tool Kit, which guides you through the steps of starting and running your own business. The tool kit provides audio visual case studies, interactive checklists and quizzes to help you assess your business. It also provides personalised feedback to get you moving quickly, without overlooking important details.

As well as news and events, there's specific information for women in business, home-based businesses, young entrepreneurs, Aboriginal business and other business groups.
